Malaika Linens

Botero Vase, Red

Regular price $125
Color: Red

This beautiful Botero vase features a rounded, triple pronged holder and is truly one-of-a-kind. It is hand crafted by artisans in the village of Tunis in Fayoum. Please note it can be used as a vase; however it may be porous, and we recommend soaking it in water before using and using a plate underneath to protect delicate surfaces.

Malaika was founded in 2004 by Margarita Andrade and Goya Gallagher who moved to Egypt after growing up in Ecuador. They decided to utilize Egyptian cotton to make high-quality bed linens which were not available in the local market. Malaika's key focus is to teach hand embroidery to local women, giving them the opportunity to improve their economic standing by learning a valuable skill.

Since its launch, Malaika has built its own factory and in 2018 they opened their own embroidery school. Malaika now produces a range of products, including silkscreen-printed accessories, soft terrycloth bath towels, cushions and beautiful embroidered table linens, all utilizing the finest Egyptian materials.
