Anut
Handcrafted in the village of Tunis in Fayoum, the Botero is a sculptural celebration of Egypt's pottery traditions. Its cylindrical white form is hand-painted with sweeping teal leaves and clusters of deep red berries, the brushwork loose and confident in the way that only comes from a maker completely at ease with their craft. The distinctive triple-notched rim gives it a silhouette that is playful, architectural, and entirely its own.
Use it as a vase — soaking the clay beforehand and placing a small plate underneath to protect delicate surfaces — or set taper candles into the three notches and let it become something even more dramatic at a dinner table. Each piece is shaped and painted by hand, which means no two are ever identical.
ANUT Cairo celebrates Egypt’s rich heritage through handcrafted pieces made by artisans across the country, from the pottery of Fayoum to the intricate embroideries of women-led cooperatives. Rooted in community and tradition, ANUT nurtures local craft through training, creative collaborations, and its growing network of artisans. Each piece carries the warmth, light, and soul of Egyptian craftsmanship into the home.
